Basket Stitch- This gives the appearance of woven strands, and is particularly suitable for large surfaces, such as pram covers, blankets and men's sweaters...
I came across an old photograph of my sister and I, taken about 50 years a go. We are standing together wearing our new cardigans made by 'Granny'. The photograph is in black and white, so no idea what the colour was, but the pattern on the cardigan is basket stitch. I cam e across your blog from another and there it was basket stitch again. I really must don pins and make a couple of basket stitich cardigans for my great neices. thanks for this Happy Week
A knitting pattern designer, writer and part-time primary school teacher, I currently juggle work with bringing up my little boy and girl within a stone's throw of the Lake District. Audrey's Tea Shop is the 'if we won the lottery' dream- a fabulous yarn store with a tea shop upstairs, serving home-made cakes and tea in vintage pots with hand-knit cosies. Until the numbers come up, Audrey's Tea Shop is a place to come and share yarny thoughts- you are very welcome to come and share a cuppa!
